"When
I arrived in Argentina, I knew almost no Spanish. My host
family spoke only Spanish, so I knew I would have to learn
quickly in order to communicate even the most basic thoughts.
Thankfully they read my mind and helped me adjust to a
different culture. Two months later when I left Buenos
Aires, I cried as I hugged my host family goodbye. They
had become a part of me, and they made my trip the best
it could be.
It also helped that Linguatec's staff really cared about
how I was doing in my classes. They worked with us diligently
and were patient when we couldn't get things right after
the tenth try. Since they were all studying or knew English
or other languages, they could relate to the frustration
that comes with language learning. I also enjoyed getting
to know them outside of classes, because they showed us
parts of Buenos Aires that we might not have seen otherwise.”

”The
teachers at Bridge-Linguatec were great at bringing the
classes to my level in order to keep things challenging.
Perhaps the best lessons were those where I read Borges
over a coffee at a local cafe. It was nice to build a
personal relationship with most professors...to share
my experiences in Buenos Aires and to get to know their
lives and culture as Argentines.
It was helpful to have different teachers every day; it
changes the pace, the accent, and oftentimes the focus.
Some professors definitely focus more on conversation
while others on grammar. There were also a nice variety
of excursions that fit not only my personal but also professional
interests. A trip to the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange gave
me an excellent chance to see my business vocabulary in
action.
Everyone at Bridge-Linguatec, from the assistants to the
director, made me feel extremely welcome and went out
of their way to accommodate my needs. They were very flexible
with my requests and made sure that I got the most out
of my time here.”

”From
the first moment, Linguatec's staff warmly greeted me.
They set me up with a marvelous host family and I started
classes right away. The fact that the groups are so
small and that we have teacher rotation makes the learning
process much easier and much more dynamic. Even speaking
only Spanish in class, which is something, I didn't
really understand in the beginning, helped me think
in Spanish, and therefore, have a much better fluency.
In my opinion, my stay with Linguatec was very enjoyable
and I can't think of anything they could have done to
make my stay more pleasant.”

"I learned
more Spanish in three weeks at Bridge-Linguatec in Argentina
than I did in four years as a Spanish major in college.
The classes were extremely informative. Not only did
I love classes and my host family, but I fell in love
with the city as well. It was an amazing experience."

”Bridge-Linguatec
in Buenos Aires offered me a great experience and the
chance to learn Spanish in exactly the ways I needed.
It was this personalization of instruction that made
my three weeks there so productive, but this was only
one of the positive aspects among many others—such
as friendly, knowledgeable teachers, excellent facilities,
and interesting excursions in the Argentine capital.
I would recommend Bridge-Linguatec to anyone with [country-specific]
language needs, but not only to those seeking a localized
repertoire. Quite to the contrary, Bridge-Linguatec
is more than willing to customize lessons to help people
looking for any number of different Spanish specializations.
This versatility, along with Bridge-Linguatec's many
other strengths, makes the school attractive to a diverse
swath of students.”

”I
joined Linguatec especially because of their Tango program.
I started dancing Tango a few years ago in my state,
but had never had the opportunity to come to Buenos
Aires. It has been one of the best trips of my life,
where I discovered a beautiful city, improved my Spanish
and danced Tango until exhaustion.”

”I've
always loved traveling and last year, when I decided
to come to South America, I knew my trip would be much
more interesting if I could understand what was being
said. Not only did I want to visit the different countries
but also I really wanted to get a feeling for the culture.
My respect for the Latin culture has always been enormous
and after knowing Buenos Aires, it's even bigger.
Argentina was the first Spanish speaking country I visited
in South America and I was very lucky to learn about Linguatec
first-hand. Not only did I learn how to express my general
ideas with them but I also got a feeling for the Argentinean
culture through the variety of extra curricular activities
that were offered, such as happy hours with the teachers
and my fellow students, sailing in the Tigre river, and
of course, my tango classes. The teachers in Linguatec
were all very patient and extremely helpful and the DVD
is a great instrument to make the classes more dynamic
and interesting.”
