The capital of Costa Rica, San José is located in the
Central Valley, a fertile basin 3,773 feet above sea level.
On the hillsides and near the volcanoes surrounding San José
you will find quaint villages, rolling pastures, small farms,
and vast coffee plantations.
In the basin itself lays the San José metro area. The
bustling city is home to an extensive collection of museums,
theaters, restaurants, nightclubs, and neighborhood markets.
Live music, trendy bars and restaurants, and dance clubs vibrating
with tropical rhythms are all vital parts of San José's
active nightlife. Cultural and educational options abound as
well, with theater, dance performances, museums, and visits
to historical monuments rounding out your itinerary. In addition,
the city's central location is a great starting point for adventures
to any part of beautiful Costa Rica.

The school is ideally situated
far enough away from downtown San José to
enjoy life away from the big city, yet within a

The Spanish school in San José has a perfect location for a language
center. It is located in San Pedro, a suburb of San José,
close to the majority of the host families that work with the
school. It is far enough from downtown San José to offer clean air and quiet surroundings, yet within a convenient
10-minute bus ride from the city center. Spanish students can easily
access San José's museums, shops, and bars. In addition,
San Pedro provides a variety of activities for Spanish students, thanks
to the presence of the University of Costa Rica, which lies
only five blocks away.
Inside the Spanish school, nearly all of the classrooms are built with
the student in mind. They have an abundance of natural light
and are well-ventilated and comfortably furnished, providing
optimum conditions for language learning. There is also a computer
lab with free Internet, an onsite café "Café
Entre Amigos," a garden, and a large terrace with great

"Beautiful
facility and location. I would highly recommend this
school without reservation to my colleagues, friends,
family, and students. I was and have been quite impressed
by the organization of the program and personal attention
given to me, and the desire to help me achieve my goals.
I was very impressed with the overall organization,
the attitudes of the staff and faculty, and quality
of homestay families. I would definitely want to stay
with the same family when I come back next year!"

| "Every
day, every week, I was amazed by the noticeable progress
I made. Not only did I hit a rhythm quickly, but I've
been dreaming in Spanish regularly! The quality and
diversity of the staff is exemplary. I really appreciated
the varied styles, backgrounds, and interests that helped
to animate classes so they were not off-the-shelf drills.
The staff goes the extra mile to customize the teaching
process so both the student and the professor are fully
engaged."

Robert

|
"This
school has outstanding instructors who provide a rigorous
educational experience in a relaxed, friendly and attractive
environment. It's a thoroughly professional operation
but is also completely comfortable, in large part because
everyone seems to genuinely like everyone else. And
no one here thinks that taking the work seriously means
you can't have a good time or have to stop laughing."
|
 |
Polly
Harrell
Retired, USA |
|
| "My
trip to Costa Rica was wonderful, and I hope to return.
I have been to the school twice, and both times I met
some wonderful people, and the instructors are excellent.
Now I go to the Spanish church as often as possible, and
listen to Spanish programs on the television. I am even
teaching a beginner's Spanish class one day a week! I
am 70 years old and still learning. If I can do it, anybody
can." |
 |
Janice
Huie
Bishop, USA |
|
| "I arrived
here with some anxieties about whether a 55-year-old
woman with no previous Spanish training could start
from "zero," learn enough Spanish to make my effort
worthwhile, and still have an enjoyable time. Thanks
to the school, the answer is a resounding yes. I expect
to continue my work in Spanish at home and to return
to improve my skills. Thank You."

the experience was unforgettable and one that I truly
would like to enjoy again. The staff is warm and considerate
and always ready to help. Thank you all for providing
this experience." |

| "[My
grandchildren and I] enjoyed every minute of our experience—Spanish
lessons, professors, staff, food, and facilities. The
school made everything easy and fun! The homestay family
was fantastic. We felt very welcome and food and facilities
were excellent. The enrollment coordinator was especially
helpful with suggestions on restaurants, tips on taxis,
phone call assistance, and we loved her personality.
I would definitely recommend this school to my friends.
The school was able to accommodate all ages and backgrounds
and needs. Every professor and class was adjustable
and unique. The field trips for the children were appreciated—we
simply had a wonderful time." |

| "I enjoyed
most the interaction between the staff and students.
It is definitely a positive atmosphere. My family is
top-notch. They went out of their way to make me feel
part of their life. Living with them was the best experience
of my life. They opened their home and hearts to me.
That is irreplaceable. There was a lot of love in the
house. I was really lucky! I look forward to continuing
the relationship in the future. Muchas gracias." |
