|
| |
| |
Playa Tamarindo is one of Costa Rica's best beach locations,
where the only thing more exciting than its lively nightlife
is its unparalleled surfing. Nestled on the northwest coast
of Costa Rica, this tropical paradise boasts white sand, crystal
clear water, and fantastic waves that attract nature lovers,
surfers, giant-turtle watchers, and sun-seekers year round.
For the adventure-driven student, Tamarindo is brimming with
outdoor activities such as kayaking, surfing, snorkeling,
diving, fishing, horseback riding, hiking, canopy tours, and
mountain biking. The center of town also offers cultural points
of interest such as art galleries, gift shops stocked full
of handmade crafts, and a wide variety of restaurants and
cafés. And for those who are no stranger to a late
night "cerveza," Tamarindo offers a nightlife with
some of the best bars, live concerts, and nightclubs on the
coast.

Tamarindo Weather |
|
|
|
 |
Tamarindo (along with other beach towns
on the North Pacific Coast of Costa Rica) receives the
least amount of rain in the country. Temperatures range
between 72ºF (22ºC) and 92ºF (34ºC)
during the year. Cool winds from northern latitudes can
lower the temperature pleasantly along the coast. The
rainy season begins in May. A typical day at this time
of the year has beautiful fresh mornings with sunshine
and a blue sky. Showers are no more than one to two hours
a day in the evening or at night, and it's not unusual
to have few days without rain. From mid-July to the end
of August there is a little summer called "El veranillo
de San Juan." It stops raining and is summer again
until the end of August. |

The Tamarindo Spanish language school is situated in the heart of Playa Tamarindo,
Costa Rica, where rainforests surround the school grounds and

just a short walk away. In this unique location, Spanish students
can enjoy observing local wildlife such as parrots, iguanas,

in the distance!
In the true tradition of the tropics, Spanish classes are
held in open-air, palapa-style classrooms, which are perfect
for both small group and private language instruction. These
outdoor areas are also used for activities or as a place to
relax and visit with other students. In addition, the Spanish school

|
| "I enjoyed
Tamarindo very much. The people there are friendly and
there are lots of fun things to do. The teachers at the
school were excellent, and everyone was very nice. The
outdoor classrooms were brand new, and freshly landscaped.
I was one of the first students to use them, and thought
that they were very conducive to learning, and provided
a peaceful setting. I wish I had another week to spend
there.” |
| Lynda Greenwade Thorp |
|
“We had
a wonderful time. One week was not enough. The teachers
were great. The classrooms had an openness to them that
provided relief from the heat. The owners were very friendly
and our host family great. We would happily go again.”
