Manuel Antonio is a beautiful beach town on Costa Rica's central
Pacific coast. It is best known for its national park, pristine
white-sand beaches, scenic drives, and luxurious accommodations.
Manuel Antonio is located just south of the town of Quepos,
approximately 100 miles (132 km) from the national capital,
San José.
Manuel Antonio National Park, the most famous site in town,
boasts striking white-sand beaches backed by a deep green forest
growing right up to the high-tide line. It also contains numerous
hiking trails, all of which are easily accessible, well-maintained,
and provide beautiful views. This area’s natural diversity
allows for a variety of outdoor activities, including horseback
tours, white water river rafting, hikes through the rainforest,
and deep-sea scuba diving. Manuel Antonio also offers many cultural
attractions to complement the natural ones, so a day in nature
can be topped off with a first-class meal or a night dancing
merengue or salsa.
