The school in Tamarindo offers a variety of cultural activities, afternoon trips, and weekend excursions. Each week, depending on student interest and what is happening in the surrounding area, the school makes sure that you have a chance to discover the best the Costa Rica has to offer. Students are welcome to participate in activities such as dance classes (Merengue, Salsa, Marcado, & Cumbia), lectures, cooking classes, and "Intercambios" (exchanges) with local "Ticos" (Costa Ricans) who are learning English. There are also trips to local points of interest in which all students are encouraged to participate.

Surfing
Tamarindo is an ideal location for those interested in surfing. You can hit the waves at a nearby beach by joining our special Spanish & Surf course or by renting a surfboard at one of the local shops that offer special rates to our students.

River Rafting
Costa Rica is known as one of the best places in the world to go white water river rafting. Home to an abundance of wild and untamed rivers that plunge through incredibly beautiful tropical rainforests, the country has a river for rafters of all levels. The school will help you arrange one of these incredible trips to some of the best rivers in and around Playa Tamarindo.

SCUBA diving and PADI certification
The waters off the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica are teeming with exotic marine life, everything from roosterfish, manta rays, red snapper, puffer fish, to schools of bait fish, live corals, star fish, and much more! You will find Playa Tamarindo a great place to dive, or to learn how to dive. Certification courses of all levels are available, including Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Divemaster, and more.

If you don't want a full certification, you can also take what is known as a "Resort Course," which includes some theory, a pool lesson, and one to two dives.

A number of charter boats working in the Pacific Coast area can take you on a deep sea fishing adventure.

Some of the best places to experience Costa Rica’s famous beauty are the country's many national parks. Many of these parks are close to Playa Tamarindo and are the perfect place for you to explore the area’s natural attractions.
