Cairo |

With a booming population of 14.5 million residents, Cairo is not only the largest city in Egypt and the national capital, but it is the biggest metropolis in Africa and the ninth largest city in the world. And its size is only the beginning. Cairo is an amazing place filled with a mix of ancient history and modern urban life that rivals any major city in the world.
Cairo extends along the banks of the River Nile for about 25 miles (40 km). It is close to almost every pyramid in Egypt, most notably the Great Pyramids of Giza—one of the Seven Wonders of the World— located about 11 miles (18 km) from the city center.
Cairo offers remarkable insight into Egyptian culture, which has roots in Islamic, Muslim, Christian, and Jewish religions. The sprawling city is home to Islamic architecture, Muslim monuments, and famous buildings such as the Cairo Opera House. Along Cairo’s twisting streets, you will find countless churches, temples, tombs, art galleries, and the intriguing Egyptian Antiquities Museum which houses the mysterious treasures of King Tutankhamun. You'll also find unique shopping experiences in area markets and bazaars where you can browse the selection of exotic carpets, perfumes, and spices. As the ancient story 1001 Nights declares, “He who hath not seen Cairo hath not seen the world.”

Founded in 1988, the institute understands the increased importance of Arabic in social and professional spheres, and has created an effective teaching method using the latest resources available. Students can also learn the Egyptian dialect (spoken and written), which is the easiest accent to learn and is most similar to modern standard Arabic. All instructors are highly qualified with university degrees and experience in teaching Arabic, and the school is recognized by the Egyptian Ministry of Education.
The school is located about 15 minutes by metro from the center of Cairo, in the El-Sawah Square. Here you will find many restaurants, shops, banks, markets, and Internet cafés. The school occupies a two-story building with five classrooms, a conference room, a small cafeteria, and a media room with computers, Internet, and self-study materials. In front is a lovely garden where you can meet other students from around the world.

"My teacher was absolutely great. Every day I had new questions about my experiences made 'on the street' and she tried to explain everything to me and gave me advice. This way, I learned not only the Arabic language but also important cultural things and aspects of Egyptian life.
During my stay I learnt how to bargain in shops or taxis, to cross streets, to travel around, to make easy conversations, to handle some unexpected situations, etc. and I got an idea of Egyptian way of life and thinking!" |
