Rome for
50+
This program caters exclusively to people over 50.
Held twice a year, this two-week course focuses
on maximum exposure to art, culture, and the Italian
language. During this class, students will receive
20 hours a week of Italian language lessons, as
well as cooking classes, guided trips around Rome,
and two art history seminars.
In addition,
you will participate in private trips to locations
such as Villa Adriana, Castelli Romani, for wine
cellar tour and tasting, as well as dinner on Castelgandolfo
Lake.
Saturday trips to Pompeii and Naples are also included.
Italian teachers guide all excursions and events.
Roman
Archeology
Also a two-week course held twice a year, this course
combines 20 hours a week of Italian language lessons
with an extensive introduction to Roman archaeology.
Throughout the course of eight 3-hour sessions,
you will become immersed in the customs and traditions
of Ancient Rome. Also included are excursions to
the Foro Romano, Museo Archeologico Nazionale Romano,
and the Necropolis.
Business
Italian
The course is designed for business executives,
professionals, and students with a working knowledge
of the language who need to use Italian in everyday
business situations. The lessons concentrate on
all aspects of business Italian, both written and
spoken. The classes will focus mainly on business
terminology and relevant grammatical structures.
The
course includes instruction on defining your professional
image, business meetings, product familiarization,
commercial letter writing, business articles and
reports, and an introduction to Italian society
and economics.
Exam Preparation The school offers six-week
Exam Preparation courses twice a year to help students
prepare for the CELI, CILS, and I.T. The course
will advise students on what exam to choose, how
to enroll, and how to prepare for the tests.
Live &
Learn In this course,
each lesson is three hours long and is divided between
class time and real-life learning. The classroom
portion is devoted to vocabulary, grammar and phonology,
while the second part of the lesson takes students
out and about around the city with a native speaker—one
of the most effective ways to learn the language.
The
third part of the lesson reviews the difficulties
encountered in real-life communication. Don't miss
the opportunity to take your Italian to the next
level.
Year-long
University Curriculum For
those seeking a long-term experience in Rome, and
true fluency, there is no more effective course
than a full 32 weeks of language and cultural study.
This program will prepare students to pass the Italian-language
proficiency exams, and covers the following college-level
courses: Italian History and Civilization, Business
Italian, History of Italian Art, and Italian Design
and Architecture. Two exams are included in the
course price.
