The city of Cuernavaca is recognized worldwide as a center for Spanish language studies as well as for Hispanic culture, humanities, and business in Latin America. Located about an hour from Mexico City, Cuernavaca allows students to experience city life without getting lost in the masses. Cuernavaca is the capital of the state of Morelos, and offers the amenities you expect from a capital city—plenty of restaurants, shopping areas and outdoor plazas, as well as a vibrant nightlife.

Although Cuernavaca has become quite modern in recent times, it retains its cultural appeal as one of Mexico’s first colonial cities through its beautiful architecture and many museums. The city is a favorite among Mexicans and foreigners alike thanks to its spring-like climate and the gorgeous tropical plants and flowers that accompany the perfect weather. Because of its geographical location, Cuernavaca is also an ideal starting point for interesting trips in Central Mexico.
