The school offers several special courses for students who want to adapt their Spanish language skills to specific fields or areas of interest. These courses may be taken as private or group classes.


Spanish for Business and Finance
This course introduces students to realistic situations and the specialized vocabulary that professionals need in order to communicate in the business world. Personalized questions, grammar exercises, role-plays, reality-based activities, and translation and interpretation tasks provide students with numerous opportunities to apply their newly acquired knowledge in a wide variety of practical contexts.
The course includes one preliminary lesson, 20 regular lessons, and four review sections. The complete course is covered in a total of 60 hours.


Spanish for Medical Personnel
This course is a must for anyone in the healthcare field who deals with a substantial Latino clientele. The course presents realistic situations and the specialized vocabulary that healthcare professionals need in order to communicate with Latino patients.
Language development is accomplished through a wide variety of opportunities to apply new vocabulary and grammatical structures in many practical contexts. A preliminary presentation of the Spanish vocabulary for human anatomy is included. All of the skill areas of reading, writing, speaking, and listening are emphasized.


Spanish for Teachers
This course focuses on the special needs and situations confronted by teachers when dealing with Hispanic students and their parents. You will have a wide variety of opportunities to apply new vocabulary and grammar in practical contexts. Vocabulary and grammatical structures unique to teaching are developed through a communicative approach. All of the skill areas including reading, writing, speaking, and listening are emphasized.


Spanish for Law Enforcement
As most major cities face the demand for larger numbers of police officers, fire fighters, parole officers, and social workers that speak Spanish, the school in Guadalajara has designed a course that specifically targets their very unique language needs. Studies have shown that crime and violence significantly decrease as the level of communication increases in a community, and this course is extremely useful for anyone in the law enforcement field.


Spanish for Social Services
This course is designed to meet the vocabulary and communication requirements of those working in the social services field. You will apply new vocabulary and grammatical structures to practical situations encountered in the field. All of the skill areas including reading, writing, speaking, and listening are emphasized.


Appreciation of Authentic Literary Pieces
This course is designed to help intermediate students make the transition from highly controlled materials (textbooks, etc.) used at the elementary levels of language instruction to the appreciation of authentic literary works. It contains 22 short stories, written primarily in the twentieth century. The authors of these stories represent Spain and Latin America, as well as the Latino presence in the United States.
