Extracurricular activities are offered to enhance the student’s exposure to language and culture. Among the offerings are Arabic calligraphy, lectures on Islam, Moroccan film viewing, and presentations about Tetouani painting. You will also be able to meet with Moroccan students for conversation or even for organized activities such as soccer, basketball, or music. And don’t miss the exceptional opportunity to enjoy a traditional Tetouani-Andalusian dinner followed by a musical concert in a private home!

The school also offers a variety of excursions so you can get to know Tetouan and the surrounding area. Some of the trips available are described below.

Medina of Tetouan
Experience the city’s historic district as you walk along the meandering white walls and visit its centers of bustling activity. The downtown streets are divided into trade guilds of artisans selling their wares and women offering a variety of produce from the local countryside.

Archeological Museum
Built in 1943, this museum features antiquities from northern Morocco including a Roman mosaic, prehistoric tools, coins, bronze work, and pottery. The museum is also home to a library dedicated to the preservation of North African literature.

School of Traditional Arts and Crafts
Appreciate the traditional customs of Morocco in this unique cultural establishment. A tour through the school allows you to see the teachings of such handicrafts as weaving, leatherwork, mosaics, tile-making, engraving, sculpture and painting.

Ethnographic Museum
The former fortress of a sultan, this amazing structure brings to life the customs and traditions of Morocco. The marriage ceremony is a highlight, and you can also see exhibits displaying carpets, wood carvings and brass works.

Camel Treks
Witness the awe-inspiring splendor of the desert on this traditional must-do excursion in Morocco.

Chefchaouen
Take a trip to the “Blue City.” Just 40 miles (60km) from Tetouan, Chefchaouen is a traditional village famous for its blue walls and old-world atmosphere. The city is a living museum, and provides a glimpse into life in Moorish Spain more than 500 years ago.
