Panama City is a fascinating melting pot of multicultural activity. Stretching approximately six miles along the Pacific coast, the city has always played a key role in bridging the Pacific and Atlantic oceans and connecting countries around the world. Most residents are of mixed ancestry, either of Native American and European heritage or of European and African roots. The architecture of Panama City also reflects a blend of cultures, eras, and economic levels, as colonial buildings, sleek skyscrapers, luxury homes, and urban residences round out the city’s neighborhoods.

Further north, Old Panama was once the center for Spanish exploration, expansion, and business during colonial times. Now, elegant monasteries, customs houses, stone bridges, and the ruins of the Cathedral of Piedra are all to be enjoyed as historical monuments. The unique atmosphere of Panama City gives Spanish students here the opportunity to experience history while taking advantage of the conveniences of a modern, cosmopolitan city.

Three Good Reasons to Study Spanish in Panama City
Panama City is a modern city with a colonial heritage; it was the first Spanish settlement on the Pacific Ocean.
Panama’s two distinct coasts (Atlantic and Pacific) offer limitless possibilities for rainforest exploration, water sports, and some of the best scuba diving in the world.
The school's excellent facilities on the beautiful grounds of a former army base make this language school an ideal place to study.

Panama is a tropical country and therefore hot and humid. There are just two seasons: wet and dry. There is a prolonged rainy season from May to December and a short dry season from January to April. Typically, there is less rainfall on the Pacific side where most people live. Temperatures are normally hot in the lowlands, 70°F-90°F (21°Cto 32°C), and much cooler in the mountains, 50°F-64°F (10°C to 18°C). Temperatures vary little throughout the year.
