Moscow, the majestic capital of Russia, is one of the world’s largest cities with over 11 million people. Located on the banks of the Moskva River, the city has many excellent attractions from the Kremlin (the mainstay of Russia’s political power) to Red Square(which lies just outside of the Kremlin) to the famous St. Basil’s Cathedral (a staple of Russian imagery with its ornately decorated exterior). All of these sights will give you a firsthand glimpse into the local culture as you immerse yourself in the Russian language.
Moscow has the best of both worlds, old and new. The city center is a busy metropolis with a newfound zest for life—new shops and restaurants open their doors every day. Like New York City, Moscow is also known as the city that never sleeps. Students can have fun and learn a lot in this fast-paced environment. Away from the center, there are cozy cafes, artists’ studios, and quiet parks–perfect places to absorb the leisurely side of Moscow and reflect on its unique cultural heritage. Whatever your expectations, discovering Moscow and studying Russian here is a truly rewarding experience. Though Russian can be a challenging language to learn, many students find this school a wonderful place to rise to the challenge!
