  Salamanca Spain 13-16 year olds

This Course is designed for teens between 13 and 16 years of age who are learning Spanish for High School or any other purpose. The course takes place in Salamanca in June, July and August.

Course
The Spanish Course is the most important part of the Junior Program. Classes are held daily from 9:00 to 1:00 pm and homework is always assigned. Only Spanish is spoken in the classroom and the teachers are demanding. Teens will practice grammar, composition, vocabulary, and conversation. Students that successfully meet course objectives will receive a diploma at the end of the course.

Activities
The Junior Course includes cultural, sports and a wide variety of other activities at no extra cost. A different activity is planned for each day except Sunday: visits to museums, group events, a day at the swimming pool and excursions and field trips outside of Salamanca. The opportunity to meet young people from other countries is a very rewarding part of the program, allowing students to broaden their view of the world. Activities permit and encourage these contacts. All activities are supervised by school personnel. Athletic shoes, a swimming suit and beach towel should be packed. A sweater will also be needed as it sometimes cools off at night. A list of clothing and necessary items will be included in the Student Handbook.

  Accommodation
Students will stay in Spanish homes. These families have been carefully selected and each one has been visited. Two students live in each room. Some of the families have children of their own. The families live near the school - 10 to 20 minutes on foot - and students take part in family life. The three main meals of the day are all included. Students receive a bag lunch with sandwiches and fruit on days when the classes have excursions or head to the pool. The camp coordinators assure that the meals are healthy and balanced. It is very important to note any special dietary needs on the registration form. Laundry (one machine load per week) is included.
