The school offers a variety of guided activities every week
such as bowling and international foods night. School staff
can also help you arrange activities and excursions on your
own. Montreux and the surrounding area offer a diversity of
recreational options such as mountain climbing, mountain biking,
sailing, waterskiing, ice-skating, tennis, go-kart racing, and
paragliding. Some other suggestions for excursions are listed
below.
Skiing or Snowboarding in the Swiss Alps
One of the world’s largest ski areas, “Les Portes
du Soleil” (the Gates of the Sun) is just 30 minutes
away from Montreux and is heaven for skiers and
snowboarders. The resort is situated between France
and Switzerland, and offers an abundance of terrain—you
can even ski in both countries in the same day!
In the evening, enjoy the charming lodging and friendly
populace of “Les Portes du Soliel.”
Castle of Chillon
This castle built on a rocky island on Lake Geneva displays Roman and early gothic architecture and can be toured from the dungeons to the tower. The structure was made famous by Lord Byron’s poem, “The Prisoner of Chillon.”

Soak in the mineral-rich thermal waters, reputed
to have health-restoring properties, and splash
in the largest open-air swimming pool in Switzerland.
Enjoy the waterslide, river pool, and Olympic-size
swimming pool.
Gruyères and Broc
Enjoy coffee and croissants and take in a scenic view of the beautiful countryside while you travel by train to the medieval town of Gruyères, famous for its cheese factory. The visit is followed by a tour and tasting at the Cailler-Nestlé chocolate factory in Broc.

a growing hub with many low- cost flights to northern
